Comprehensive platform, detailed experience

My recent purchase was for the full Marketing Automation suite, specifically to leverage the AI Marketing Agents and Predictive Content. The onboarding process was mostly self-guided, with clear documentation. I tested the Split Testing feature extensively on my email campaigns, and the reporting provided excellent insights. The integration with Shopify was straightforward, pulling in customer data seamlessly. While the initial cost felt a bit high, the functionality, especially the deep Contact Management and List Segmentation, justified it. I did encounter a minor bug with dynamic content rendering on one specific email client, which support resolved within 24 hours. Their API Access also proved robust for custom integrations I needed for my existing systems. It's a robust platform, though it does require a commitment to learn its full capabilities.

Consistent service, easy to use

This isn't my first time using ActiveCampaign; I've been a customer for about two years now. My latest subscription renewal for the Marketing Automation was just as smooth as always. I appreciate the reliability of the platform. The Site Tracking and Abandoned Cart Recovery features continue to perform exactly as expected, just like they did on my previous plan. That consistency is why I keep coming back.

Great value on annual plan

I was looking for an affordable solution for email marketing and CRM. The 20% off for annual plans made ActiveCampaign a really attractive option. I went with the Lite plan, mainly for the Email Templates and Form Builder. It was easy to set up my first campaign, and I feel like I'm getting a lot for what I paid. Saved a good chunk of change compared to monthly billing.

Good features, some setup issues

I signed up for ActiveCampaign's Marketing Automation and found the features quite powerful for segmenting my audience. The Predictive Sending was particularly useful. However, getting everything configured initially took a bit longer than I expected. Customer service was responsive, but I had to go back and forth a few times to get a specific integration working smoothly. Overall, good value for the price, but expect a learning curve.

Are there any hidden fees or stuff that pops up after you sign up for the free trial? Just want to make sure I know what I'm getting into.

W Wendy Carter 1 month ago
Nah, not really. The free trial is just that, free. They don't ask for a credit card until you're ready to pick a plan and pay.

I didn't run into any. It just ends after 14 days if you don't convert to a paid plan. Pretty straightforward.

I'm a small non-profit, is there any special pricing for us? Every dollar counts, you know?

T Tom H. 1 month ago
Yeah, they totally have a non-profit discount. I think it's 20% off. You usually have to apply for it though, prove your non-profit status.

My buddy's org got a discount, so they definitely do that. I'd hit up their sales or support to see what you need to submit.

Is ActiveCampaign actually better than Mailchimp for automation? Mailchimp's automations feel a bit clunky sometimes.

R Rosa Whitfield 1 month ago
Oh, 100%. ActiveCampaign's automation builder is way more powerful and flexible than Mailchimp's. You can do some seriously complex stuff with their visual builder.

I switched from Mailchimp mostly for the automations. AC blows it out of the water, no contest. The segmentation and branching logic are just so much better.

How does their pricing work exactly? Is it based on how many emails I send or how many contacts I have in my list?

C Colin 1 week ago
It's based on contacts, primarily. So the more people on your list, the higher the tier you'll be on.

K Kevin 1 week ago
Definitely contact count. The email sending limits are usually generous enough not to be an issue for most small to medium businesses on their standard plans, unless you're doing super high volume.

Thinking of moving my email lists over from Mailchimp. Is it a pain to migrate everything to ActiveCampaign, or do they help with that?

J June Y. 3 weeks ago
They actually offer a free migration service. I used it when I moved over from Constant Contact, and it was pretty smooth. Just had to give them access to my old account.

Yeah, they're pretty good with migrations. Not sure about Mailchimp specifically, but I've heard good things about their support for that stuff. Worth checking out their docs or asking their sales team.

Is the 20% off for annual plans automatic, or do I need a code or something? Trying to figure out my budget for next year.

R Ryan F. 1 month ago
Nah, it's automatic. When you go to sign up, just pick the annual billing option instead of monthly and it shows the discount right there.

E Emma 1 month ago
Yep, can confirm. No code needed. I just switched to annual a few months ago and the price difference was applied at checkout.
